Old Vic Tunnels
The Old Vic Tunnels were unearthed by Kevin Spacey whilst visiting Banksy’s cans festival (we were there too) and they became an offsite project space for the Old Vic. This labyrinth of tunnels underneath Waterloo station has played host to a myriad of fascinating events. The MINDFUL Exhibition and Festival, raising money and awareness for Mind - is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. Curated by British artist and Mind Ambassador Stuart Semple the exhibition featured works by: TRACEY EMIN | MAT COLLISHAW | JAKE & DINOS CHAPMAN | BARNEY BUBBLES | TESSA FARMER | SEANA GAVIN | MONA HATOUM | ANNIE KEVANS | LILIANE LIJN | GEORGE LILANGA | SARAH LUCAS | WHITNEY MCVEIGH | KATE MOROSS | ELLIE REES | STUART SEMPLE | TOM WILKINSON. We were honoured to be part of this event which fused two subjects that we are passionate about, mental health awareness and the creative arts. This 'Arts Festival' was a week’s worth of events spanning art, music, theatre, performance and cinema. On Sunday the 25th of September we were there trading as part the art & vintage fair. There was also a music & makers market from Knicker Rocker Glory, an interactive design research project hosted by Ridley Buchanan Architects based in an ice cream van, choral performances from The Resonance Project and a one on one theatrical experience from Flipping the Bird Productions.
