CHELSEA GIRL - 28th April, 2011
So it is nearly here the biggest Royal Wedding in 30 years! Looking at the numerous stories dissecting Kate’s style we thought we'd see what the young Diana was wearing back in 1981, the year of her marriage. Weirdly we don’t think that much has changed in Sloane Ranger fashion since then! What we do see is a very normal girl, we hope that Kate's style evolves from Whistles and Issa into something iconic too.
TALK IS CHEAP - 14th April, 2011
Our founder, Hazel took part in a free talk hosted by friend Sarah Bagner from the wondrous Supermarket Sarah. Sarah's presentation took place as part of the Land of Kings festival, celebrating creative entrepreneurs. It was a great insight into the magical world of the website from conception to actualisation. Sarah also spoke of exciting developments such as a 'Festival' and Berlin wall...genius! Grace Winteringham, co-founder of Patternity was also in attendance, their appreciation, application and discovery of patterns continually inspires us.
Hazel spoke about our much-loved Christmas wonderland wall. The audience discovered how and why we conjured up the theme and subsequently executed the idea.
The eager listeners were a pretty fashion forward bunch, we spotted some great style!
CANDY MAN - 13th April, 2011
We also meet blogger, model and girl of the moment, Bip Ling who looked candy cute DJ'ing at the the event. Bip had a chuckle when a bag morphed into a luxury dog carrier, what happens in Furla stays in Furla!
WE HEART FANTASIA - 6th April, 2011
We stumbled upon the singer Fantasia Barrino whilst in the states last year, she won American Idol back in 2004 and now has Grammys to her name. It was her recent performace back on the stage of Idol which made us look twice. Re-styled as a retro soul vixen with a twist, we love it!
AT THE RACES - 5th April, 2011
We are always making our way around the country and world sourcing gorgeous vintage items. Whilst we're on our travels we like nothing more than getting up at ridiculous o'clock to visit some inspiring antique markets. Last week we took ourselves off, armed with double espressos and Ginster pies, to the bi-monthly Sunbury Antiques Market held at the rather glamorous Kempton Park racecourse.
Upon arrival we remembered why the excitement never goes, the hunt, the chase, the haggle. Visitors ran into the market when it opened to be the first to see what the 700 stalls had on offer. This is the behaviour of the professional hunter, we've witnessed (and rather embarrassingly) been a part such crazy behaviour ourselves. It's the right game plan as many of the industrial storage units we immediately loved had already been sold at 6.30am! There was still a huge amount of offer, check out some of our favourite items.
